The General Election is still a month away, but a seventh-grade student from Ryan Gloyer Middle School didn’t have to wait for polls to close before assuming the title of Mayor of Cranberry Township.
Jaxon Higginbotham was named “Mayor for the Day” on Thursday, October 2. He received the honor during the Board of Supervisors meeting. A resolution approved by the Board notes the Township’s commitment to encourage civic engagement and providing opportunities for young residents to learn more about their community. The Township recognizes the importance of fostering leadership, responsibility, and community spirit, the resolution states.
Jaxon was selected for the honor to recognize his efforts to be a young leader in the community.
